Six Questions About
Our Prayer Life
  1. Is prayer changing me?
  2. Is prayer making any difference in my life?
  3. Is my prayer life bringing me closer to the Lord?
  4. Am I moving toward giving control of my life to God?
  5. Do I constantly try to tune into God’s presence?
  6. Are any my prayers helping me develop a more loving relationship with others?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then one more question comes to mind: WHY NOT?

Two Stone Cutters

Two stone cutters were engaged in similar activity.

Asked what they were doing, one answered, “I’m squaring up this block of stone.” The other replied, “I’m building a cathedral.”

The first may have been underemployed; the second was not. Clearly what counts is not so much what a person does, but what he perceives he is doing it for.

Our Part

“If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for.”

—Charles H. Spurgeon
