Seeds Can Grow...

Well, last week I shared some of the ways God has allowed me to sow seeds while "Stuck in Lodi, Still"! (g) click here to read last Inside

Well, I went back over the the park at the dam a few days ago and the young man I mentioned was there. He’d been driving more than 30 miles (one way), every day, hoping to catch me again.

As a result of our first visit and listening to "Grandma’s Songs", he’d decided he needed to give his life to Jesus. PTL! Seeds are planted in prepared soil for the purpose of growing and producing fruit. The sower doesn’t always get to pick the fruit, but in this case, I was able to be in on both ends. What a blessing.

I recommended that he find a good church and get started growing as a new believer. We were to meet a couple of days ago, but he rides a motorcycle and we actually had rain up here at Kathleen and William’s home.

We were scheduled to meet today. He didn’t make it. When I came back to the house and checked my e-mail, I discovered an e-mail from his mother. He’d been in a bad accident and had gone Home to be with Jesus. He was only 25 years old. How close he came to missing eternity with the Lord.

I intended to write this piece before I got this news today. It’s sad in a way to have to finish my thoughts with his Home going. However, better he went Home than the other alternative.

Don't ever forget that Jesus command to us was, "As you go into the world, be my witnesses..."
