Welcome to Grant's Heavenly Top Ten. I have a confession to make — for the last eight years or so I've been losing my hair. Now I sport what my wife affectionately calls the "Bruce Willis look." But, what I find interesting is that I've been in the ministry for eight years as well — Humm! So without further ado, the topic of the October Edition of the Heaven Top Ten is:
“Top Ten Reasons Why I, as a Preacher, am Balding”
- Out of consideration for God! Matthew 10:30 says that God numbers every hair on our heads, so I thought I would make His job easier!
- The gleam from my forehead makes me look angelic while preaching!
- The last hairpiece I had flew off while I was making a particularly forceful plea from the pulpit!
- Youth group, 'nuff said!
- Three boys, double 'nuff said!
- People were always mistaking me for Fabio, so I had my hair surgically removed!
- "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life." So I figured gray and bald was even better!
- Hey, when I repent, I REPENT! (Isaiah 22:12)
- I look at it as a sign that the old is being recreated as a less-hairy-more-Christ-like-new!
- And the number one reason,
I as a preacher, am balding is: - Paul teaches, "if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him" (1 Cor 11:14). So I figure no hair must really be an honor!
The Heavenly Top Ten is intended to be a fun look at
issues of faith and fellowship. It should not be considered a serious treatment
of
any of the topics presented.
